I just returned from a quick trip to Alaska to visit family. We took the ferry from Whittier to Valdez, where we camped for a few days. The ferry ride, through Prince William Sound, was 6 hours long, and the scenery was stunning:
Fog veiled the mountains from view, so my attention was drawn to the much closer icebergs. As it turns out, icebergs are pretty captivating.
I think I have a new favorite color--Iceberg Blue. I rarely gravitate to the blue section of the color wheel, but something about this particular shade has me hooked. I especially love it combined with the gray-blue of the surrounding ocean and sky and the dark, charcoal gray of the gravel that covers many of the icebergs.
Sweater visions fill my head: a solid gray-blue body with iceblue and charcoal patterning across the yoke. I have a project for my fall knitting...
Nature creates the best palettes, doesn't she?
